Password protected sites

Hello,
it would be nice to have the option for visiting sites with password protection. If I try to open a web site with simple password protection like htaccess, no input for entering a password is shown. Instead the site ist not loading.

Thanks

Re: Password protected sites

Hi!

This is definitely something we need to add for the next release. Can you provide us with an URL to a site that uses htaccess?

Re: Password protected sites

Hi,

I set up a test-site under
www.jflothow.de/test

There are two links, the first leads to a simple htaccess-protected site, the second to a site protected by my webhoster. I don't know which system my webhoster uses but its not htaccess.

Both are working fine in safari using the username test und the password test.
In airweb both sites didn't work.

Re: Password protected sites

We're hoping to get this working for 1.2.0. There are currently very few browsers on iOS that support this (Safari and Chrome being the exception) due to the fact that previously the built-in classes don't provide any easy way to handle these authentication challenges. There are however some new features in iOS 7 that makes this a bit easier, and we'll be looking into those this coming month.

This is definitely a feature AirWeb needs to have.
